Natalie Portman: Thor hits theaters on May 20, 2011.

Marvel Studios will begin work on Thor starting in January in Los Angeles. From there, production will move to Santa Fe, New Mexico and will stay there from March until the end of April.

Thor will be directed by Kenneth Branagh. It stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins.

The film is based on the popular comic book character Thor, the god of thunder. An “arrogant warrior whose reckless actions re-ignite an ancient war. As punishment, Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans. Once here, he learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends dark forces of Asgard to invade Earth.”
