The plot involves Portman’s character being involved in a very intense performance against Kunis’ character

Peter Sciretta over at /Film got an exclusive earlier this evening regarding important casting news for Darren Aronofsky’s newest fim, BLACK SWAN. Word is, that Winona Ryder, Vincent Casset and Barbara Hershey will be joining Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis (previously announced) in Araonofsky’s supernatural New York ballet film. The plot involves Portman’s character being involved in a very intense performance against Kunis’ character, yet the “supernatural” twist being, Portman is not sure weather her rival is real, or a part of her imagination. Sounds like this is right up Aronofsky’s ally to me.

Casset will play the director of the production named Yevna, who Sciretta pens as “handsome but sinister.” Many will remember Vincent as the sniveling son to a Russian mob boss from EASTERN PROMISES. Ryder will be playing a friend of Nina (Portman) and Hershey will be playing Nina’s mother.

I can definitely say that this new casting news is definitely adding to my already throbbing anticipation for this film. What do you guys think of Aronofsky’s newest project?
